Evangeline B. Catungal is a Filipino-American
who has been painting since childhood. She studied art design
& illustration at the Institute of Art in Chicago. With
a Masters Degree in Anthropology from the University of
Illinois, Evangeline also teaches Anthropology at the Oakton
College. But she loves to spend her free time
cultivating her natural born talent which is painting.
As an artist who creates her art from images she captures from
her mind and soul, Evangeline refuses to be recognized by one
particular style. Through the years, her art has evolved into
many interesting forms. She continues today with
self-education and discovery of mixing creative techniques and
media.
Her recent genre includes
a large array of subjects including paleozoic critters,
extinct animals, florals in surrealistic and abstract style
inspired by the inkblot technique made famous by
Hermann Rorschach.
