About our Botanical Ingredients:
Aloe Vera is a well known healing and soothing agent for damaged and dry skin. It is soothing and healing for burns, skin irritations, and raw open wounds. The vitamins found in Aloe include B complex, folic acid, C and carotene (a precursor of vitamin A).
Avocado oil is both nourishing and anti-inflammatory. It is beneficial for dry flaky, mature and ageing, climate-damaged skin and eczema. Avocado oil is rich in Linoleic acid and Oleic acid. Vitamins A, D, C, E, B6, Protein & Lecithin.Sunflower oil contains useful amounts of essential fatty acids and a high amount of vitamin E.Shea butter has been used for centuries in parts of Africa. It is known for its moisturizing and anti-aging properties. It protects against inflammation, minimizes scarring, and enhances cell regeneration and capillary circulation.Chamomile oil is excellent for healing skin problems and wounds because of it’s anti- inflammatory properties. It is valued for use in acne, eczema, dermatitis, cold sores, itchy dry skin and psoriasis.
Calendula (calendula officinalis) or pot marigold has been used for centuries to heal wounds. It is rich in carotenoids (Vit. A) which help the skin regenerate itself.
Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral effects and seem to promote the healing of almost any atypical skin. It is rich in vitamin A which helps heal the skin and eases the pain of insect bites and many forms of dermatitis including poison oak & poison ivy.Lecithin, extracted from the soybean, helps to repair the collagen and restore the elasticity of mature skin Soybean oil contains BOTH essential fats, linolenic acid and linoleic acid - essentail fatty acids which improve skin texture and reduce water loss.
Rose Geranium is used in skin care formulations, where it's astringent properties make it beneficial for acne prone or congested skin. It is also anti-hemorrhagic and anti-inflammatory making it useful for the treatment of broken capillaries and eczema.Lavender is one of the most valuable essential oils. It promotes growth of new skin cells and exerts a balancing action. It has a pronounced healing effect on burns and sunburn and helpful in cases of acne, eczema and psoriasis. Corundum (Aluminium oxide) is the second hardest natural mineral known to science (next to diamonds). It is an inert substance and it is insoluble in water and organic substances, and its melting point is 2000 degrees centigrade. MSDS indicate that it is non-carcinogenic and non-toxic for ingestion. These properties make corundum a more excellent substance for exfoliation compared to alternatives like sugar, salt, sea salt (magnesium oxide), baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).

The corundum crystals gently bombard the skin to exfoliate the dull outermost layer. The skin perceives this as an "injury" and it is signaled to produce new fresh cells more rapidly. This is nature's way to awaken & rejuvenate the skin!
After the first treatment you'll feel your skin softer and smoother. With regular use, the microdermabrasion process will reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, blotches and irregular pigmentation. It also makes the appearance of old superficial acne scars and blemishes less visible.
Microdermabrasion stimulates collagen growth and cellular regeneration thereby improving skin tone and sagging. As clogged pores loosen and enlarged pores are reduced, the appearance of breakouts and acne is minimized.
Microdermabrasion increases microcirculation bringing nutrients to the skin, and promotes better absorption of serums & creams. During the microdermabrasion process, the skin becomes more open for the botanical oils and vitamins to penetrate the deeper layers.
This product is suitable for most skin types. The gentle botanical cream base makes it compatible with most skin care regimen.
After microdermabrasion, the skin will be more absorbent to the ingredients in the skincare products (whether they are the beneficial oils & vitamins or the potentially harmful chemicals). Please exercise caution as to what you apply on your skin after doing microdermabrasion.
Contraindications to Microdermabrasion: Sunburn, active fever blisters, and warts (in the treatment area) are contraindications to treatment. Patients on blood thinners, a history of facial radiation treatment, diabetes, HIV or other serious illness generally are not candidates for treatment. Other contraindications include current or recent use of Accutane (within 1 y), active herpes infection, malignant skin tumors, evolving dermatoses, and certain keratoses.

The microdermabrasion process is not an overnight fix for skin problems. It is a gradual process of removal of dead skin and imperfections with the promotion of healthy new skin. Good skincare should also include proper nutrition, sleep, exercise, and avoidance of nicotine & alcohol.

Botanical SunShield Plus is a non-irritating moisturizing cream made from BelleDerm's botanical complex & marine minerals.
